For undiluted drinking pleasure and 100% pure taste, you need a glass that is cleaner than clean. It must be hygienically clean. That is easily achieved in a professional dishwashing machine by meiko. These features and functions make the dishwashing process especially hygienic.
Undercounter dishwashing machines like the M-iClean U, hood type dishwashing machines like the M-iClean H and even large-scale dishwashing machines like the M-iQ flight and rack type dishwashing machine – the range is broad. All have their own advantages and are the perfect choice for the right task and space. There is one thing, though, that they all have in common: hygienic washing results. Take a look at this overview of hygiene features to see how these results are achieved.
M-iClean SERIES: UNDERCOUNTER AND HOOD TYPE DISHWASHING MACHINES
These features enable undercounter and hood type dishwashing machines to achieve wonderfully hygienic results:
GiO-TECH: this reverse osmosis system sterilises and almost completely demineralises the water.
Benefits:
- Consistently high water quality for consistent hygiene safety
- Filters out all microbes larger than 0.0001 micrometres
- Reduces risk of recontamination as there is no need to polish with tea towels
Blue operating concept: All blue machine components can be touched and removed for cleaning.
Benefits:
- Less opportunity for error
- Efficient cleaning
Automatic rack detection on automatic hood systems: as soon as a rack is inserted, the hood closes and the wash programme starts. Afterwards, the hood automatically opens again, too.
Benefit:
- Contactless operation
- Prevent infection by indirect contact
- Opportunity to fully separate clean and dirty sides
- Only with the M-iClean H (with automatic hood system)
Heat recovery: ComfortAir on the M-iClean U and AirConcept on the M-iClean H: the hot vapour is channeled back into the water cycle as a source of energy instead of being released haphazardly into the room.
Benefits:
- Reduces residual moisture (up to 98% on porcelain, up to 75% on glasses)
- Reduces risk of recontamination as there is no need for tea towels
- Less steam means a more hygienic indoor climate
Monitored AktivPlus filter: larger dirt particles are filtered out and the chemicals do not have to ‘break them down’ first. The system detects if the filter is missing or incorrectly inserted.
Benefits:
- Less chemicals needed with active dirt removal – fewer dirt particles in the wash chamber or the tank
- Overall: cleaner, more hygienic wash water
M-iClean signal concept: optimum human-machine communication: blue = ready. Green = washing. Red = important message.
Benefits:
- Error messages can be seen and dealt with immediately
- Stops door from opening early and compromising hygiene safety
Lighting inside wash chamber: get a good view right into every corner of the wash chamber interior.
Benefits:
- Dirt can be spotted and removed immediately
- Hygienic environment
Temperature shown on display: so you know what is going on in the wash process.
Benefits:
- Water temperatures above 60 °C ensure hygiene safety
- See and assess efficacy in destroying thermolabile (heat-sensitive) pathogens
There is no evidence of particular heat resistance in SARS-CoV-2. It can be assumed that it is sensitive to temperatures of 60 to 70 °C.
It is also an enveloped virus, meaning that alkali detergents at temperatures from 50 °C upwards are especially effective. Loss of the viral envelope or removal of the envelope’s lipids prevent it from infecting host cells. This fact is exploited to inactivate enveloped viruses in order to stop the virus from spreading.
These features make MEIKO warewashing technology especially effective at inactivating microbes (supported by expert opinion).
Dosing system with empty indicator: chemical fill levels are monitored. When detergent or rinse aid is running low, a warning is displayed.
Benefits:
- Chemical products are always dosed correctly
- Programme will not run without chemicals
- Early information means chemical products can be refilled in good time, preventing machine downtime
MEIKO Connect: a daily protocol can be created.
Benefits:
- Comprehensive machine hygiene documentation
- Removes need to manually record data and minimises potential causes of errors
Dosing systems for detergent and rinse aid: these are built in and activated by the machine itself, independently of any on site interference.
Benefits:
- Optimum chemical dosing
- Hygiene safety using automation
M-iQ: RACK AND FLIGHT TYPE DISHWASHING MACHINES
Blue operating concept: any component that is coloured blue or illuminated in blue can be touched, operated or cleaned.
Benefits:
- Less opportunity for error
- Efficient cleaning
GiO-TECH: this reverse osmosis system sterilises and almost completely demineralises the water.
Benefits:
- Consistently high water quality for consistent hygiene safety
- Filters out all microbes larger than 0.0001 micrometres
- Reduces risk of recontamination as there is no need to polish with tea towels
M-iQ filter: food waste is filtered out of the water and then actively removed from the tank with no additional water – completely eliminating it from the warewashing process.
Benefits:
- Active dirt removal – fewer dirt particles in the wash chamber or the tank
- Overall: more hygienic, more effective wash water
GreenFilter (option with GreenEye): a HEPA filter (GreenFilter), as part of the pump final rinse, removes suspended particles from the water.
Benefit:
- Hygienic final rinse
MEIKO dynamic wash cycles: the M-iQ's dynamic wash cycles achieve maximum cleaning power using a third less resources.
Benefits:
- Microbes are reliably washed away
- Provides unparalleled cleaning results
Energy concept: heat recovery reduces energy consumption, exhaust air volume and exhaust air temperature.
Benefits:
- Good indoor climate
- Reduces risk of mould growth
V tank and sloped cover: the condensed water runs down the sloped cover towards the wall and into the tank. The dirt particles in it collect at the lowest point.
Benefits:
- Water does not drip from the cover onto the clean dishes
- Tank bottom is easy to access and to clean
Glass display shows status
Programme progress and status can be viewed from every angle. Error messages are communicated clearly.
Benefits:
- Users can view the temperature in the machine at any time
- Helps with troubleshooting
- Display is easy to clean
M-iQ AirConcept: air is intentionally channeled from clean to unclean, i.e. from the hot final rinse zone towards the cool pre-wash zone.
Benefit:
- Prevents recontamination of dishes which have already been cleaned
Wash-off box at feeding section: this ensures that the base drip tray at the feeding section is regularly cleared of food waste.
Benefits:
- Independent cleaning
- Hygienically clean all over – even in difficult-to-reach areas
CC Hygienemanagement/ MEIKO Connect: a daily protocol can be created.
Benefits:
- Comprehensive machine hygiene documentation
- Removes need to manually record data and minimises potential causes of errors
Automatic tank management: the tank level, temperature and chemical fill level are continuously monitored and controlled.
Benefits:
- Settings affecting hygiene are automatically monitored and controlled
- Processes run hygienically safely and reliably
