MEIKO IS ‘SUSTAINABILITY SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR’, AS VOTED FOR BY THE UK CATERING EQUIPMENT INDUSTRY

The UK catering equipment industry has voted Meiko SUSTAINABILITY SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR!

Run by Catering Insight, the magazine, online and newsletter publisher, the awards are voted on by the UK’s catering equipment distributors and suppliers, reflecting the views of the entire industry.

Winners of the Awards are decided by online voting involving senior members of the industry.

“I wish I’d been at the Awards ceremony,” says Meiko UK MD Paul Anderson. “Instead, I am coming back to the UK from Meiko Germany, in the future progression of the group's continued focus towards clean solutions around the world.

“To win recognition from the people we service, and support is absolutely fantastic. Thank you for your support. Meiko is a sustainable company and has always created its products and service in ways designed to minimise impact on the planet – and our customers budgets.

“At Meiko UK we have reinforced that sustainable commitment by adding more staff and devoting more of our working time to sustainability, in particular, training customers.

“Catering equipment dishwasher suppliers must take a proactive approach to maximising the sustainability of their equipment and we do this by providing training support for the lifetime of our equipment because this is the only way in reality to ensure Meiko customers achieve the maximum sustainability from their equipment.”

Catering Insight said: “The green agenda is amongst the top priorities of many a commercial kitchen project and this is recognised with the Catering Insight Award for Supplier of the Year – Sustainability.

“This year’s Catering Insight awards programme attracted a record number of entries across both the dealer and supplier categories, underscoring the huge amount of investment, creativity and innovation that has taken place over the last 12 months.

“From distributors broadening their activities, empowering their workforces and embracing new technologies to manufacturers pioneering new products, bolstering partner resources and driving sustainability, the UK catering equipment channel has been a hive of activity.”

“The shortlist this year was outstanding so those who were eligible to vote have had some very difficult choices to make,” added editorial director Andrew Seymour. “We asked industry leaders to make their decisions based on merit and to take into account the day-to-day experiences that they and their teams have with the companies shortlisted.”
