The area is a unique natural environment and world famous for its tourism. But it is also home to many inventors and tinkerers. It is home to finely tuned mechanics, precision technology and the art of engineering. This is where ideas flow. And MEIKO is at the heart of it. We offer heat recovery systems, efficient water consumption, smart choices of materials and pioneering solutions like the GiO MODULE so that dishes can dry with no residues on them. Here in the MEIKO development lab, new ideas are brought to life, or rather: to the kitchen. This is where prototypes are put through their paces. Not only once but perhaps 1.2 million times already. That is what happened in the development of the automatic hood system for the new M-iClean H. We learn: a machine has to be something special to earn that coveted ‘M’ on the rating plate. A CRYSTAL CLEAR IDEA FROM MEIKO:

MEIKO technology not only guarantees clean results, it will also run seamlessly and efficiently. Let's look at the example of glasswashing. With MEIKO, your glasses will be more than just clean when they leave the dishwashing machine – they will be dry and ready to reuse immediately. The secret: wash without polishing using our patented GiO MODULE with reverse osmosis technology.

It demineralises your wash water, making it exceptionally clean and hygienic. That means no salt or deposits end up on the glasses so there are no marks. After the wash cycle, the efficient heat recovery system uses the heat energy it has collected to dry the glasses immediately. The effect: dry glasses and no steam emissions when the door is opened. This way, there is no need for annoying, time-consuming and unhygienic hand polishing. That, in turn, cuts down on expensive breakages. Current studies show that in food service, up to 33% of glasses have to be replaced every year due to breakages. Hand polishing is the main culprit.

THE ALTERNATIVE TO DISPOSABLE ITEMS:

MEIKO washes reusable cups

The figures are dizzying: Berlin alone sees 170 million disposable cups handed to customers every year – that is 22,000 per hour. Since 2021, an EU directive has banned the use of certain plastic disposable items. Clever and environmentally conscious caterers have long been on the case and have been providing reusable cups at festivals and events. And MEIKO has already developed the right warewashing technology.

The challenge with reusable cups is this: they have to be hygienically clean AND dry immediately, ready to use again with zero wait time. MEIKO has the clean solution! We vibrate the cups to dry them – no method is cleaner or quicker.

A CLEAN SWEEP

MEIKO recycles waste professionally

MEIKO machines wash plates but what happens to the leftovers from those plates? MEIKO has developed new ideas to solve this problem, too – we want to make the world a cleaner place. That means: no food waste, as well as clean disposal and recycling.

Waste bins and buckets have no place in a modern kitchen – we offer technology which uses a pump or vacuum system to collect the waste in a special tank and, when the time comes, to dispose of it and send it to a biogas plant. Food waste is a valuable raw material: let's use it! MEIKO GREEN's BioMaster and WasteStar CC systems created a market for green solutions which can be seamlessly integrated with your kitchen logistics.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

New ideas for better safety

When we develop new technologies at MEIKO, safety and occupational health are our top priority: are our machines particularly ergonomic? Will they make work easier for the operating staff? Do they safeguard health?
