Last June, Meiko UK shared the story of Peter Barry, their Financial Director and his battle against bladder cancer, which began in December 2015.

Until last April, Peter was on a rollercoaster with cancer, going from an initial all clear after surgery, to having the cancer return in November 2017 and being resigned to having only 18 months to live.  Then, following innovative Immunotherapy treatment, he was finally given a clean bill of health in November 2018.

Since then, Peter has worked to give back to Guy’s and St Thomas’ cancer research charity, who helped to make his recovery possible. He has completed the Cancer Survivor’s Day – Celebration Walk and has organised a Meiko fundraising BBQ.

“Six months on from my all clear, I would like to say a huge thank you to all the Meiko employees, suppliers, distributors, friends and family who have help me to raise a whopping £3,855 towards such an important charity, who do such an amazing job. I’d also like to thank everyone for all the love, support and strength I have received to help me through this rollercoaster of a journey,” said Peter Barry.

Meiko UK Managing Director Paul Anderson “At a time where we hear so much bad news, it is wonderful to share some good news and I’d personally like to thank our business, industry and friends for pulling together and supporting Peter.”
